My work with the Australian College for Emergency Medicine has presented some wonderful opportunities. I regularly reflect upon one person in particular, Sarah Goddard. A true inspiration, her impactful story is of perseverance and dedication.
Generation Women: Unladylike Behaviour
I recently joined a diverse panel of storytellers aged in their 20’s through to 70s. We regaled in the power, thrill and fear of unravelling institutionalised sexism, challenging gender constructs and expectations!
“Generation Women blends a lively literary salon with the tradition of handing down wisdom from community elders. Melbourne: Hosted by Rebecca Lister, Produced by Donna Logue, Hopepunk Productions. Created by Georgia Clark.

Queer Victorian Festival of Words – Midsumma Festival
As part of Victoria’s Pride Festival, I was invited to showcase a selection of life-writing and poetry. Finally connecting with my queerness through literature and artistry has been profoundly freeing. A huge thank you to the talented organisers and participants.
“Q-Lit is Victoria’s premier LGBTQIA+ literature festival, dedicated to celebrating the rich and vibrant history of language and storytelling within the queer community. Born from the understanding that LGBTQIA+ culture has a long-standing tradition of utilising language in unique and powerful ways, Q-Lit seeks to honour and elevate these voices. The festival brings together a diverse array of queer writers and creators, transcending genres and mediums to create a truly inclusive and inspiring event.”

Maha Sidaoui is featured in Memoria Season 2 Episode 3 – Choices’

“Memoria Podcast is a show about memories. Micro stories about the moments that shape us and how memories change over time.
Inspired by flash fiction and the narrative non-fiction form, Memoria is a podcast which explores slices of life; moments in time that have transformed people and shaped who they have become. The idea for the podcast came to Natalie Vella in a short fiction class with Ania Walwicz in 2017. The podcast is now in its forth season and was a finalist in the 2019 Australian Podcast Awards.”
“In order to move forward in life, we make choices and are often forced to stand up for what we believe in. I sometimes wonder what it is that this young generation is willing to fight for. I love to think how about our world and how it can change in such a short time.” Maha Sidaoui
